Four People Shot at Howe Community Park – Unauthorized Event Descends into Chaos





On April 18 2026, an unsanctioned event of multiple hundreds of attendees at Howe Community Park in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento ended in a shooting when 20 to 25 rounds were fired as Sacramento County Sheriff's Office deputies were working to dispersing the crowd.

A Timeline of Events

At around 6:30 PM on April 18, the Sacramento County Sheriff got reports concerning people potentially carrying concealed firearms at the Arden-Arcade park. A follow-up call mentioned a reported fight and individuals fleeing the scene.

A sheriff's helicopter was dispatched and searched the park but found no evidence of any physical confrontation.

Nonetheless, hundreds of individuals had come together at Howe Community Park for what the sheriff's office identified as an unauthorized gathering. Responding deputies surrounded the park, turned on their emergency lights, and took about 15 minutes instructing attendees to vacate the area over loudspeakers.

As deputies were in the process of dispersing attendees, upwards of 20 gunshots echoed through the area — triggering a panicked crowd in all directions at once.

Those Injured

Four people — a here female and three male victims, all young adults in their 20s — were taken website to Sacramento area hospitals. Two of the victims had serious injuries, one with moderate here injuries, and one suffered injuries classified as minor. All four victims were stable. Sacramento Metro Fire was on scene and assisted at the location.

The Investigation Scene

The shooting was centered on the Cottage Way side of the park adjacent to the Home Depot store at the 2200 block of Howe Ave. The nearby Home Depot was locked down for a period of time. Further shell casings were located on Cottage Way, with projectile damage found in the iron fence bordering the check here Home Depot store — suggesting a shooter firing south from along Cottage Way toward the store. The Suspect Vehicle

Via scanner radio traffic, it more info was revealed that a suspect vehicle — identified as a Kia — was intercepted in the Solano County area with four individuals detained. SCSO deputies were heading to Solano County to pick up the suspects and bring them back to Sacramento for questioning. Video analysis confirmed the involvement of two shooters.
